Description
This hyperrealistic drawing of Jay-Z was made in 2021 using charcoal pencils (B, 4B and 8B), a black watercolor pencil and white gelpen for highlights. The reference picture used for this piece was done by photographer Ben Baker. When this was created, Jay’s hair was growing longer, so this was added to make the image more recent looking.
Jay-Z a.k.a. Hova a.k.a. Shawn Corey Carter a.k.a. Beyonce’s husband is a Brooklyn raised rapper with a impressive career which has been booming sinds the early 1990s. He is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time with collaborations with the Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West, Lil Wayne and many more. During his carreer he released 13 solo albums, many of which have gone platinum. In addition to his music career, Jay-Z has also been involved in various business ventures, including co-founding the record label Roc-A-Fella Records and the streaming service Tidal.
