“Mastermind” painting – poster print

This painting of Rick Ross was made in 2023 and was inspired by his sixth studio album Mastermind. The deluxe cover of this album shows a digital artwork of Rick Ross with a gun to his head with colors splashig out on the other side. I wanted to recreate this in a realistic manner. The icing on the cake in this process was throwing multiple pure colors to make it look like they splash out of the side of his head.

Rick Ross is a Flordia based rapper who has been active for over two decades. He gained prominence in the mid-2000s with his debut album “Port of Miami,” which featured hit singles like “Hustlin’.” Ross’s music often explores themes of wealth, success, and street life, delivered with his distinctive flow and vivid storytelling. Beyond music, he has ventured into business with his record label Maybach Music Group and has interests in areas like real estate and Wingstop franchises. Ross is celebrated for his luxurious lifestyle, signature beard, and enduring influence on the hip-hop scene.
