Description

This painting was created in 2022 using acrylic paint. It was inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s video of the song The Heart part V, which anticipated his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. In the video Kendrick raps about the culture and its flaws. While doing this he morphs into controversial and respected people of black culture. This painting was made between the release of the video and the release of the album (which was about two days).

Kendrick Lamar is a undeniable big name in the Hip-Hop scene. The Compton rapper gained prominence in the early 2010s and earned a spot as one of the best rappers ever. His music often addresses themes like racial inequality and personal struggles, blending social commentary with personal narratives. Eventhough he does not release as much music as some of his peers, when he does, he delivers with outstanding quality. Kendrick Lamar even earned a Pulitzer award for his album DAMN.
