Description
This painting was created in 2019 using acrylic paint. It was inspired Macadelic, a mixtape which has been important to me as a Mac Miller fan and, to me, shows the transition to Mac’s darker and deeper self. The Macadelic cover was used as inspiration and a portrait picture of Mac of which the photographer is unknown to me.
Mac Miller was an American rapper, singer, and record producer known for his introspective lyrics and unique style. One of the few artists I admire that also feels like a longterm friend (eventhough we never met). He released several successful projects, ranging from the youthful KIDS to the drugs-influenced Macadelic and Faces, to the revelating and honest Swimming. Mac passed away in 2018 at the age of 26, but left a lasting impact on the world of rap music.
